What is a mud run?
A mud run isn't your average race. It's a combination of running, sprinting, climbing, jumping, crawling and lots more...all in the mud!
Why a mud run?
The Music City Mud Run is an event of Centerstone’s teen pregnancy prevention grant, Be in Charge. Be in Charge is a program that is all about making healthy choices, avoiding risky situations and overcoming obstacles. The Music City Mud Run will challenge you to do all of these things! While Be in Charge is targeted to youth 12 to 19, The Music City Mud Run is open to all ages.
Centerstone, a not-for-profit organization, has provided a wide range of mental health and addiction services to people of all ages for more than 55 years. Through more than 50 facilities and 160 partnership locations across Middle Tennessee, Centerstone serves 50,000 children, adolescents, adults and seniors each year. About Be in Charge
Be in Charge offers both school-based and community-based education programs to decrease the number of teen pregnancies in Tennessee. Trained Centerstone Prevention Specialists teach classroom lessons in select schools on subjects like self-esteem development and how to avoid risky situations. At the community level, Be in Charge conducts presentations and distributes information to educate parents, teachers and community leaders about how to help teens make healthy choices. The Be in Charge program is fully funded by a $5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Adolescent Health.
